Paper Mail/Absentee Ballots

GES handles this process from designing the ballots and envelopes, printing and mailing, to tabulating and certifying the results. The ballots are mailed several weeks in advance and on tabulation day, the envelopes are scanned into our proprietary registration system to check eligibility and to ensure only one ballot per voter. The ballots are removed from the envelopes scanned on high-speed optical scanners using our OMR/OCR scanning and tabulation software featuring de-skewing, de-speckling and image correction for accurate results that are auditable in three ways; the tabulation results log, a jpeg image of each ballot and the physical paper ballot. All voting materials are accounted for and retained by GES.

In-Person Paper Ballots

GES designs and prints the ballots prior to election day and the ballots are counted and bundled for distribution to the voting locations. When a voter arrives, they are authenticated in GES' proprietary voter registration system and their signature is captured using a digital signature pad, time stamped  and stored in the voter list. The voter is then given a ballot to mark in private and place in a sealed ballot box. Upon the closing of polls, the ballots are removed from the sealed boxes and scanned on high-speed optical scanners using our OMR/OCR scanning and tabulation software featuring de-skewing, de-speckling and image correction for accurate results that are auditable in three ways; the tabulation results log, a jpeg image of each ballot and the physical paper ballot. All ballots are accounted for and retained by GES.

Internet Elections

GES designs and configures a secure voting portal and eligible voters can log in by typing certain datapoints for authentication. They then receive an encrypted voting code to their email which they type in to gain access to their electronic ballot. Voters cast their votes anonymously in a secure voting environment that complies with the US Department Of Labor (OLMS) Title IV standards. In addition to voting, we offer clients the option to conduct surveys and interact with their members or constituents to learn how they feel about any number of topics.

Our electronic services replicate time-proven election procedures established over the long history of organized labor.
